We regularly deliver to Zones 2, 3 and 4. Because haulier costs are higher for deliveries to these zones, a small surcharge is added to these orders. This is automatically calculated at the checkout. Please refer to the table above for Zone Surcharges.
Please note due to the current volatile nature of haulage costs, carriage and zone surcharges may be subject to change.
Delivery Zone
Use the map and postcode list below to identify which Zone your delivery address is in. The Zone map is provided as a guide only.
Delivery Access
In order to avoid any potential re-delivery charges please let us know at the point of ordering where you would like your order left (‘safe place’) in the event you are unable to be there to accept it, and if your delivery address has any vehicular access restrictions so we can make alternative arrangements with our carrier.
Considerations include any width restrictions on approach roads, narrow bridges or gateways, parked cars or other obstacles, if any roads are unsuitable for vans, small lorries or for an HGV, or if there are any height restrictions due to low bridges or over hanging trees.
Orders involving parcels are typically delivered on a van.
Orders involving pallets are typically delivered using a lorry.
Please let us know if any of the above types of vehicles would be unable to deliver to your delivery address and we will do our best to make alternative arrangements for you.
In the absence of off-loading facilities provided by the client, pallets will be off-loaded using a tail lift and manual pallet truck. Please bear in mind this requires more space than a van delivery. A manual pallet truck can only be operated on a flat, level and solid surface, such as tarmac, concrete or block paving, free from grass, gravel and inclines.
Goods will be placed as near to the delivery location as the delivery driver deems safe. Delivery drivers do not unpack pallets.
Please note a charge per pallet will be incurred where re-delivery is required due to access restrictions we were not notified of, or you were unable to be there to receive your order and we were not notified of your ‘safe place’ for it to be left.
Service
We aim to process, pick, pack and despatch your order as quickly as possible subject to stocking levels at the time of placing your order. Please allow a minimum of 5 working days between order and dispatch or collection. For more urgent orders please contact the office.
Pre-ordering and despatch of bare root plants
Orders that contain bare root plants placed outside of the planting season are considered ‘pre-orders’. The despatch of bare root plants begins around mid-November, once total dormancy has been achieved, and generally spans until mid-April. We recommend pre-ordering as it guarantees your stock reservation for delivery once the bare root season commences, e.g. order in June, take delivery in January.
Collection
Collections are by prior arrangement only, and may be collected between 8:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday from our premises here in Snitterby, Lincolnshire. We are unable to ‘pick’ orders whilst you wait. Where possible, we prefer a minimum of 5 days between placing your order and collection. Changes to your order should be advised prior to collection.
